In the past some oil manufacturers pretended that bypass filters remove oil additives.
But oil additives are in solution and mixed within the base oil. Even if we wanted to, Triple R bypass filters can not remove additives because additives have a far smaller molecular size than the 2, 3 or 5 micron rating of Triple R filter elements.

Throughout the 40 years of bypass filter manufacturing, Triple R performed then thousand of oil analysis, every time analyzing the oil condition before and after use of Triple R. Even long term analysis, spread over up to 10 years, confirm Triple R filter elements do not remove additives.

The only reason for additive depletion is oil contamination.
Especially metal particles have a big impact as they act as catalysts and accelerate oil oxidation leading to oil degradation.
The higher the metal contamination load the sooner the oil will use all its additives. Pure logic. See how oil oxidation and sludge creation occurs over time:
And that is why Triple R bypass filters have such a huge impact on OIL LIFE.
With Triple R the oil contamination level is kept at a 50 to 100x lower concentration. NAS 4-6 instead of NAS 10-12. That is 67x cleaner oil and 67x less contaminants present in the oil.
Consequently the additives will last far longer, keeping the oil in perfect condition and extending oil life by up to 10 years or 50.000 operation hours.
